Everyone has their own “comfort zone,” that implies familiarity, safety, and security. It describes the patterned world of existence, keeping us relatively comfortable and calm. For much of our lives, creating a comfort zone is a healthy adaptation but so is stepping outside when it’s time to transition, grow, and transform.

This episode’s guest, Kong, is a Thai university student who has huge passion for learning foreign languages. His ability to speak 6 languages has transformed his approach to the world and consequently inspired him to get out of his own country, his own comfort zone, and explore and immerse in other cultures. For Kong, learning languages and creating connections with people from all around the world are what keep his life vivid and meaningful.

Getting out of his comfort zone allow him to break through the language barrier that often is a problem when meeting someone who don’t speak a universal language like English. In terms of meeting people, the most rewarding part for him is knowing that, wherever he go or whichever country he visits, he will always feel welcomed. To him, home is not just place but also people.
